Turkish actor Alican Akman lands a role in a series soon to be on Netflix

If you’re looking for a series that will make you laugh and have butterflies in your stomach while promoting cultural diversity, then look no further than Los Angeles-based Turkish actor Alican Akman’s latest project.

He recently booked a role in a Turkish-American co-production romcom series that will air on Netflix. Although Alican has yet to share the details of his upcoming series, he is beyond excited to entertain his fans with his acting skills.

Aside from working in the new rom-com series, Alican Akman also has another project in the works as he stars in an upcoming American movie where he plays a Turkish character.

The Turkish actor has several assets up his sleeve, making him the ideal person to cast in diverse roles. For instance, he can act in both English and Turkish, something not many actors can do, allowing him to expand his professional range as an actor and explore different genres.

He also has a Latino look which is getting the interest of producers creating projects involving Latino actors and is attracting the interest of the Spanish-speaking media.

Most importantly, Alican has several years of acting experience that he can tap into to play various roles. He has been acting for 12 years and started down that path after seeing how passionate he is whenever he’s acting.

Born in Izmir, Turkey, Akman appeared in several performances in his country. He starred in plays written by Shakespeare, Çehov, and Moliere. When he was 21-years-old, he performed in several plays directed by famous Turkish director Onur Unlu.

Alican’s big break in his career eventually happened when he played the role of Ali in the popular television series Leyla and Mecnun, which became the first Turkish series to break into the top 50 of IMDB’s top 250 best series.

Much like Alican’s latest rom-com project, Leyla and Mecnun, set in Istanbul, is a surreal and absurd comedy that revolves around the fictional love story between the protagonists.

Thanks to his natural skill in acting, Alican became popular in the Turkish film industry. Eventually, Alican felt that it was time to leap into the film capital of the world to introduce his culture and movies to Hollywood. He then packed his bags and made it to Los Angeles to be the first famous Turkish actor in Hollywood who stars in Turkish-American partnership movies.

It’s safe to say that Alican is well on his way to achieving his goal, as his name is getting recognition from the film industry and movie enthusiasts in both the east and the west.
